Blink and you miss it. The tiny hands, the season you're in, the way your family feels right now in this weird, wonderful, exhausting chapter of life. I've watched it happen in real time and I genuinely cannot stop wanting to shine a light on every bit of it.
I'm not just here for the stiff, everyone-smile-on-three shots (we know those are grandma's fridge favorites). I want the chaos too, the in-between moments, the two-year-old who absolutely refused to wear pants that morning. I do my best to make everyone feel comfortable just being themselves, until you forget I'm even there. That's when the good stuff happens. I just follow along and photograph what's already unfolding.
You end up with a gallery full of photos where everyone's personality shines through (yes, even the dog's). The kind that end up on your walls and stop you in your tracks years later, for reasons you can't quite explain.
First birthday cake smash, first day of school, whatever milestone you're celebrating. Let's document who they are right now, not some posed version of it.
More than just the bump. These sessions are about the anticipation, the quiet, the way you look at each other before everything changes.
The tiny fingers, the way they curl into you, how small they are in your arms. These first days go so fast. Let's capture them while they're still this little.
Yes, we'll get a few good portraits. Then we'll get to the real stuff. Expect a little chaos, giggles and moments that show the way your kids actually are with each other. Life with your people.

in the end we all become stories
Most parents come to me hoping for beautiful photos. They keep coming back because something happens in that single session that they didn't quite expect.
I don't pose your people into something they're not. I follow their lead, earn their trust and let their real personalities shine through. The shy one who takes a little time to warm up. The newborn who settles the moment they're back in your arms. The wild one who never stops moving. The husband who swears he's not photogenic but ends up with the best candid of the day. The dog who absolutely will not cooperate and somehow ends up being everyone's favorite photo. Every single person in your family is different and I love finding the way in to capture each of them.
I grew up in a family of four girls so I have a deep appreciation for just how wonderfully messy family life can be. Whether you've got a house full of kids, a baby on the way, a husband who claims he hates photos or a very beloved four legged family member I'm not there to tame any of it. I'm there to capture things just as they are because this season deserves to be remembered honestly.
What you'll be left with are photos that actually look like your family. Not a polished version that only existed for an hour on a Saturday but the real tender fleeting thing. Whatever your family looks like right now this phase is worth honoring exactly as it is.

We have worked with Shannon twice now and have been blown away each time! Photographing an energetic two-year old isn’t easy, but Shannon is so patient and knows just what to do to get the perfect shot, even with a toddler who won’t sit still!

Ever since our first photoshoot with Shannon, I fell in love with her work. She is incredibly sweet and creates such a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Each time, Shannon captures the most beautiful, genuine moments that I’ll treasure forever. After just a couple of sessions, I knew she was the one I wanted to document my baby’s growth month by month. I honestly wish she had been there when my first son was born because her eye for detail and ability to freeze those fleeting moments is truly special. These photos are more than just pictures, they’re memories that I’ll cherish for a lifetime.

I loved working with Shannon! She completely understood the vision I had for my pictures and brought it to life perfectly. She’s professional, easy to work with, and makes you feel so comfortable, like you’re shooting with a friend. Highly recommend!

We’ve worked with Shannon on several family photoshoots and she always delivers beautiful, heartfelt images that truly capture our personalities. She makes us feel completely at ease, even with a wiggly toddler in the mix. The gallery is shared in a timely fashion & I’m repeatedly blown away by her gift for capturing moments so authentically. Will be our go-to photog for all big & little moments to come!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Shannon. When we told her where we wanted to take pictures she scouted it out the day better. She made sure the time of the shoot was during golden hour. She made all the poses approachable and natural. The pictures we got back from Shannon were more than we could have imaged. They perfectly captured who we are as a couple and we will cherish them forever.
- THE KURRLE FAMILY
She is especially good with toddlers/kids that don’t love photos and finds a way to help the whole family enjoy! We book multiple sessions per year and are grateful for the memories! She thinks of the little details and captures the moments in between photos.
